GET LOST IN YOUR WORKOUT

I love going for runs on the beach. It’s more challenging with your feet sinking in the sand. But, with each motions of my legs and feet I imagine the awakening, and working, of all of the different muscles I don’t typically use. Yesterday was the first time I’ve run longer than a mile, in several months. However, being in shape from all of the cardio classes, gave me an overwhelming sense of power. I felt stronger than I’ve felt any other year I’ve gone for a run at the beach, and it was sensational!

As I ran I let my mind wander. People watching can certainly help you do that. I made up a new game and for each person I saw I thought of someone in my life that they reminded me of. It was a great way to conjure up some really old memories. A wonderful reflection on life so far.

I thought I would create a playlist. Some of songs may conjure up some sweet memories. Let your mind take you somewhere else… This is for you guys to help you get lost in the empowerment of your movement:

Come With Me- CEO (itunes free single of the week!)
Old Time Rock N Roll- Bob Seger Tribute (That’s for you, daddy)!
As We Enter- Damian Marley
Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)- Jayz
It’s My Life Confessions- Glee Cast (Best of Bootie 2009)
Jump In the Line- Harry Belafonte
4ever 2009- The Veronicas
Dog Days Are Over- Florence and the Machine ***MY NEW FAVORITE SONG! Check it out for a cool down. ***

xoxo,
Katie

Old Time Rock and Roll is a good one. another good Bob Segar workout tune is Roll Me Away. Also, check out Elton Johns Funeral for a Friend.
I’m definitely going to add your list to my workouts.
