THE SHACK
“…Everything you do is important. Every time you forgive the universe changes; every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life the world changes; with every kindness and service, seen or unseen, my purposes are accomplished and nothing will ever be the same again.” -The Shack
Is there a point in time in your life where you have felt the most clarity and peace? Perhaps the greatest understanding of God? I can say that RIGHT NOW I have the greatest understanding, and therefore, are the most fulfilled I have ever been…
I don’t know about you, but I fully believe in serendipity. I have been reading The Shack by W.M. Paul Young. On the way home from the beach I started going through all of the people in my life that I would love to give a copy to. I then wished I had a hi lighter to mark all of the passages I wished to both remember and share with everyone.
We got home to two very happy dogs, and I was overwhelmed with joy. My brother spent the week with them, and I am so grateful that I did not have to spend one second of my vacation worrying about them. Then, I found the one and only thing my brother left behind, a hi lighter. Not only was I happy to have the hi lighter, but the person who left it would LOVE this book as well!
The Shack was recommended to Mike and I by several people we know, and it has left me feeling a sudden need to recommend it to everyone I know… I thought what better way than to write a blog post about it, hoping to reach as many of you as possible. I am not going to tell you a single thing about it, other than it’s a novel and it will change your heart.

Katie:
I just bought it at a yard sale for 25 cents. How serendipitous is that???? Love you!
That is TOO awesome!
Gimme back my highlighter!!! Haha, just kidding. JoDee and I had a great time dog sitting last week. I will definitely have to give this book a read. Love you! -Paul
Sometimes those words ring hollow when one is experiencing a very difficult time. Especially when not one aspect of it is your fault.
I have struggled with this in the past through death, financial crisis, etc… I’m not a “why me” complainer and I know others have it worse.
thanks for letting me vent.
I absolutely LOVED this book!! My Bible Study girls read it together. It was fantastic!! Great lesson in forgiveness!
