6 TIPS FOR A HOT SUMMER BOD

Our most successful members share a few things in common. It's the habits they have instilled to get and stay in shape year round. But, we know that in the summer months, it is even more of a focus to look and feel like your best self, so we thought it would be the perfect time to share-

IF YOU REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THIS EMAIL... REMEMBER THE FIRST ONE -

#1 THEY WORKOUT TO CURE WHAT AILS THEM EMOTIONALLY.

Every day we experience anxiety, stress, lack of patience, self deprecation, anger... If you say "I'm going to workout because it will cure my feelings of _______ (anxiety, patience, etc.), you will probably do it. YOU'LL BE MORE CONSISTENT, THEN MAGICALLY, YOUR BODY WILL CHANGE TOO.

Society is hyperfocused on working out to have a hot body. WAIT! Keep reading... There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good, HOWEVER, a great physique is only a bi-product to the much bigger picture. Fitness affects our life, our emotions, and our character. If a perfect body were enough motivation, we would all be fit. YOU WILL BE MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL IN FITNESS IF YOU DO IT BECAUSE IT BENEFITS YOU EMOTIONALLY.

#2 THEY ESTABLISH RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE PEOPLE THEY WORKOUT WITH:

You'll always be excited about your workouts if you know you're going through it with people you enjoy, and have great energy to push each other. It's easy to miss a workout if other people don't notice. Call/text your friends weekly & plan these times together.

#3 THEY SIGN-UP FOR CLASSES BEFORE THEY START THEIR WEEK,

instead of waiting to see if they "feel like it" (because more often you won't), or when you "have time" (because you never will).

#4 THEY ARE MINDFUL OF WHAT THEY EAT: (DUH... BUT)

I know this is obvious, but listen up... By default, working out often makes you more conscious of what you put in your mouth. You know you don't want to feel like crap during your workout, and it impacts performance. Personally, I never eat junk, or overeat on days I teach/workout (which is most days). By default, there's less temptation.

Then, post-workout, you know how hard you worked on your body during that time, and don't want to undo the hard work.

#5 THEY ARE CONSTANTLY GETTING UNCOMFORTABLE:

"To get something you've never had, you have to do things you've never done," is absolutely true. Whether that's trying new classes, (we all get intimidated, so get over it), increasing weight, reps, working on mobility so you move better, etc. Your WEAKNESSES HOLD MORE OPPORTUNITY THAN YOUR STRENGTHS.

#6 IT'S NON-NEGOTIABLE:

Life will always be busy. Be willing to sacrifice sleep, other events, your lunch break, to get moving. CONSISTENCY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT KEY TO STAYING FIT.
